The relaxing feeling of being one with nature when having a vacation is a worthwhile experience. All the stresses and worries of the busy life in the metropolis are temporarily gone as you take some time out and free yourself from paper works and a thousand deadlines.

Once in a while, our body muscles need to be recharged by unwinding and relaxing. Taking anti-stress tabs can help, but real relaxation springs from resting, breathing fresh air, and getting yourself away from tense situations and avoiding too much thinking.

A number of refreshing places can be browsed in the internet. All you have to do is to choose where you want to go. Budgetary constraints and traveling preference are the utmost concerns. If you have decided to go anywhere, just sit back, relax and make the most out of it. After all, you need to reward yourself after doing all the hard work.

If you are looking for a nature-friendly environment, you may try Sedona with its delightfully refreshing ambiance. It is two hours' drive from north of Phoenix with an environment of gigantic rock formations and reddish soil giving its surroundings a good sightseeing spree to behold.

The Sedona's vicinity looks like the Old West and kids can relate to it as the home of Road Runner and Wile Coyote. The place is filled with romantic destinations or family tour locations, warming getaways, hotels, resorts and spa.

Planning to go there can be truly exciting, especially if you know the short-cuts and directions to get there fast. From Phoenix to Sedona, it is about 113.4 miles and the estimated traveling time is only two hours. One option you can do to reach there is to take I-17 North/Flagstaff (98.4 miles). Then you drive to exit 298, Exit Ramp (0.2 miles). Turn left (west) on SR-179 (FR-618 Rd); this takes 0.1 miles. Just head on straight onto SR-179 (14.2 miles), then turn right (east) onto SR-89A (North Highway-89A) taking you 0.2 miles.

The traveling time from Las Vegas, Nevada to Sedona, Arizona is 5 hours, traveling 278 miles to get there. It is quite a long ride; but don't worry the travel is worthwhile. If you are from Los Angeles, California, you have to tread on 482 miles and travel 7 hours and 30 minutes to get to Sedona. First take ramp onto US-101 in Santa Ana Fwy. Keep left in I-10 San Bernardino, which takes about 368 miles. As you reach Arizona, take the ramp right onto I-17 toward Flagstaff.

Other roads are under construction; so better be updated on road conditions. You can visit www.scenic179.com to check on road conditions or you can tune in to Highway Advisory Radio on AM 1630 for updates.

To get there easily, it is better to bring with you a map, lots of water in your travel and a set of CDs while traveling to keep you awake all the time. Even with the atmosphere in your way to Sedona, you can already enjoy the scenic spots around you. So don't mind about the travel, it is part of the experience.

For some famous tourist attractions in Sedona, you can visit Los Abrigados Resort and Spa and the Rainbow Trout Farm. One popular church in Sedona is the Chapel of the Holy Cross. If you like traveling by air, it has Sedona Airport.

Make reservations early to make sure your planned vacation is hassle-free. For art gallery exhibits, you can spare some time in Sedona Heritage Museum. Sightseeing spots are made available in Bell Rock, Oak Creek Canyon, Snoopy Rock, Out of Africa Wild Park and many others.
