The Old Tucson Studios were originally created to film the movie Arizona back in 1939. Since that time it has played host to well over 70 different western movies. Some other movies filmed here include Rio Lobo with John Wayne, The Outlaw Josey Wales with Clint Eastwood and Tombstone.

This makes it a must see for any movie buff visiting the city. There is more to do there than just visit the sets though. Today the Old Tucson Studios is also a small theme park of sorts. When you visit you will be treated to staged gun fights, stunt man performances and even musical performances.

You can also go on train rides, stagecoach rides and horse rides. There is even a full restaurant at the studios for when you get hungry. So as you can see there is quite a bit to do at the studios. It is a great family friendly event that you should add to your schedule for when you visit Arizona.

If you would like to visit the Old Tucson Studios while in Arizona you can find it at 201 S. Kinney Road. The studios are open daily from 10AM to 6PM and admission is reasonable at $15 for adults and about $9 for kids. Before visiting you should call ahead for current hours, current admission prices and to see if any movies are currently being shot. The phone number is 520-883-0100.
