Constructed in 1957, this is the first lake on the reservation designed for recreation.
Hawley Lake Resort along the shore has a service station, grocery store, boat dock with rentals, cabins, campsites, and laundry facilities.
The Lake is located on the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation and daily fishing permits are required. They can be obtained at most convenience stores in the area.
Permits for fishing, camping and other activities can be purchased at the store.
The facilities are open from mid-May to mid-October.
From SR260, go approx. 11 miles east of Hon Dah to SR473, then 11 miles south.

Hawley Lake is a 300-acre lake and place in east central Arizona, in the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation, off Hwy 473 about 30 miles southeast of Show Low and has an elevation of 8200 feet. The lake offers good chances for rainbow, cutthroat, brown and brook trout. Ice fishing takes place in the winter.
